Fashion Shoot

I had the opportunity to help out with a shoot last saturday that was really fun. Scott Kelby was doing a fashion shoot and it was great!

He blogged about it all, so check it out! The photos turned out great. It was fun to meet him, especially after learning so much about photoshop from him in the last few years!

Louis Vuitton on 5th Ave

The windows at the Louis Vuitton store on 5th are beautiful right now! There are animals made out of purse parts, or i guess purses that look like animals. They are amazing! The photo doesn't do it justice, and i was fighting the glare. The frog on the bottom shelf is my favorite! Enjoy -

Fashion Find Friday!

Happy Friday! I've decided to share with you two of my loves, one old and one new!

First the new: Tease-y Does It OPI nailpolish!

It's from the OPI Burlesque Holiday 2010 Line. It's so pretty and is great for short nails, since it's so dark. It has a subtle glitter that's awesome. I'm slightly obsessed.

Now the old: Old Navy Rockstar Jeans!

I've been a fan of these for a year now. I know there are some people out there that may turn their noses up at Old Navy denim, but hear me out on this - don't knock it till you try it! (and hello? it says "Rockstar")

They are only $29.50! I've talked many a friend into trying them on, and not one person yet walked out of the store without buying a pair! They really are great for all shapes and sizes, tall or short, hippy or not. Worn with a great pair of boots they are perfect. And yes, they are jeggings, but at least Old Navy calls them "denim leggings," so much better in my opinion. So give 'em a try.

Have a good weekend!

Travel in Style

In October I spent a week in Puerto Rico! My friend Erica and I headed there to get away from New York City and relax for a few days. We had a blast and spent some time in Old San Juan. I wish I could click my heels and be there right now, away from the frigid, snowy streets!

Packing for a beach vacation is simple, right?  Swimsuit - check, sunscreen - check, sandals - check, sundress - check, and a good book - check!

Staying stylish while packing lightly (who wants to pay for a checked bag?) can be simple if you keep a few things in mind: color and accessories!

Erica had this great little green dress that was a perfect color to match her blonde hair and newly sunkissed skin! I chose gold accents to go along with the glow and the warm weather. The sandals were my favorite part. I loved the metallic braided detail and they were equally as comfortable to walk in as they were stylish!

We also spent time on the island of Culebra snorkling and sightseeing. It was so beautiful!

Get the look:

1. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Erica is also a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown and has taught me the power of a shimmer brick when used correctly! It's a great way to "glow" even if you don't have the opportunity to tan in Puerto Rico, or as i learned, it can help to even out a sunburn!

2. Gurhan Long Necklace - This necklace is beautiful and is also a pretty penny, but what can I say, I have expensive taste!

3. Filigree Bead Necklace - This is a more realistic option for my budget and still as cute as option 2, but you could buy a thousand of these for the same price and stack them!

4. Mossimo Sun Dress - I love target! This is a great dress and could be so versatile in a wardrobe. I mean you could wear it in the winter with tights, boots and a long cardigan. It could add a splash of color to a cold winter day.

5. DV Gold Sandals - The circle detail on the top of these is great. Plus, they are only $29.99!

6. Samsonite Carry On - Choose a color other than black like every other boring carry on that will be in the overhead bins. This pinkish suitcase is perfect, and it rotates 360 degrees, which makes it super easy to navigate through busy airports.

As I mentioned earlier, Erica is a make up artist for Bobbi Brown and will be a contributor in the upcoming photo shoots on Style Revealed!

Welcome to Style Revealed!

Out of all the clothes in your wardrobe, how many do you actually wear? No matter how many clothes we own, we all seem to have a small rotation that we actually decide to wear! Wouldn't it be nice to have a fresh pair of eyes look into your wardrobe and mix it up a little?

So, with that in mind, welcome to Style Revealed! I've decided to tackle this tunnel vision that we seem to have of our wardrobes! I've enlisted friends who were up to the challenge and have agreed to let me play dress up with them. Why, you may ask? Simply because it's fun!

Let's be honest, it feels really good to be comfortable in your own skin -- and your clothes! When you are comfortable being yourself, you have the freedom to really leave insecurity behind and be the best version of you! I've also enlisted my very talented friends who are professionals in the makeup and photography worlds to join me as well. When you work with Style Revealed, we'll pull looks from your closet, do a photo shoot, and reveal your style!

Along with the styling photo shoots, I'll also be posting tips on shopping or trends that I see on the streets of New York City. Anything that has to do with style, fashion, or accessories, you'll see here on Style Revealed.

Here's to making our closets work for us rather than us working to fill our closets!
